Detox
Residential detoxification services are offered at the 12-bed
Billy Gregory detox unit, located within the Mental Health Mental Retardation of
Tarrant County (MHMRTC) Recovery Center, where clients with signs and symptoms of
withdrawal are given around-the-clock medical supervision. Detox includes 3 hours
of educational groups per day, exercise, individual counseling, and participation
in self-help groups.
Ambulatory (outpatient) detoxification serves are held in the
same building (Side B) and include state-of-the-art auricular acupuncture, individual
and group therapy sessions and monitoring by medical staff.
Residential Services
Intensive residential services are offered at the 50-bed Pine
Street rehabilitation unit (located within MHMRTC Recovery Center). This facility
is staffed 24 hours a day by licensed staff who provide individual and group therapy,
substance abuse education, weekly family group, gender groups, parenting groups,
job preparation skill sessions, access to psychiatric evaluation, dual diagnosis
(mental health and addiction) groups, and access to HIV testing.
