Overview of Office of Client Rights
Client Rights Officer The Client Rights Department advocates
for the rights and protection of the clients served at Mental Health Mental Retardation
of Tarrant County (MHMRTC).
Advocacy for client’s rights and protections is accomplished by the actions of the
Client Rights Officer by:
-
participating in training employees
-
investigating allegations of rights violations
-
receiving and evaluating all complaints received on the complaint line
-
representing the rights of clients during staff meetings
-
serving as a member on the Human Rights Committee
-
serving as a member on the Institutional Review Board
-
serving as liaison with Protective and Regulatory Services - Texas Commission on
Alcohol and Drug Abuse - Texas Department of Human Services - and other licensing
authorities
-
providing consultation to families and clients
