A child may be eligible for services if he/she

• is a resident of Tarrant, Parker, Palo Pinto, Erath, Hood, Somervell, Johnson, Ellis, or Navarro County
• is birth to 3 years old
• has a medical diagnosis of a physical or mental condition that will probably result in developmental delay, OR
• is behind other children the same age in one or more of the following areas:
  • cognitive development, or reasoning skills such as knowing how to search for a lost toy or make a toy move
  • physical development, such as crawling or picking up a small object
  • language or speech, such as talking or communicating with others
  • social or emotional skills, such as playing with toys or games with adults
  • self-help skills, such as eating, drinking or potty training
