Client Benefits Services (CBS) helps clients apply for and maintain benefits such
as Social Security Income and Social Security Disability Income. This program also
renews the client's financial eligibility for MHMRTC services. Another service CBS
provides is the In-Home and Family Support Program. This is a grant that can purchase
some of the items and services needed as a result of the presence of treatment of
a mental illness.
Court Services staff is responsible for making formal
recommendations to the Tarrant County Probate Court regarding the least restrictive
settings for clients for whom mental health commitments have been filed.
Mental Health Law Liaison provides 24-hours
a day/7 days a week telephone hotline support for law enforcement officers with
the intent to facilitate therapeutic placement as an alternative to incarceration.
Services also include follow-up and advocacy, as well as training for Police Departments
to credential "Special Needs Officers." It is funded by the County, supervised
by MHMRTC, and directed by a Community Management Team.
