MHMR Visions Recognizes Dr. Richard Adams as Opening Doors Leader Dr. Adams is the medical director of Pediatric Developmental Disabilities at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He serves on the statewide governor-appointed advisory committee on Early Childhood Intervention.
"Dr. Adams has been a leader in our state advocating for services for children with developmental disabilities," said Nikki Hatley, executive director of Visions. "We recognize him for his work specifically with Early Childhood Intervention.”

The Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Needs Council of Tarrant County is hosting a free faith-based symposium Jan. 30. The “Celebrating Communities: Shared Lives. Shared Gifts. Shared Service.” symposium focuses on increasing awareness of IDD and building relationships between persons with disabilities, their families and faith communities.
The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Riley Center in Fort Worth at 1701 W. Boyce Ave.

Dr. Burkett Selected as ‘Super Doctor’

Dr. Joseph Burkett has been selected to the 2014 Texas Super Doctors® list, the result of an extremely rigorous nomination process conducted by the national research division of MSP Communications in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The process includes peer nominations, detailed independent research and a Blue Ribbon Panel review of all nominated candidates. The final list is a select group of medical professionals.
